Meet the Golf Course Designer
For over 27 years, Mr. John Olenoski has pursued his passion of golf course design around the world. He started with his first design as a senior in Landscape Architecture at Penn State University. It was a feasibility plan for an addition of nine holes to his home town course in Pennsylvania. He graduated and was hired by Arthur Hills and Associates, a world renowned golf course design firm based out of Toledo, Ohio in 1985. In 1990, he joined Nicklaus Design and for over 13 years he was involved in the designing and constructing of numerous golf courses throughout the United States and in Morocco, China, Mexico, Russia, and the Philippines. In 2003, he decided to pursue his own ideas and looks of golf course design with a solid foundation of excellence learned from two of the best designers in the business. Working on golf course projects in Arizona, California, Pennsylvania, Texas, Mexico, and the Philippines, he also returned to his grass roots of Landscape Architecture by adding to his portfolio, landscape design, land planning, and residential developments projects. Currently, he has finished the restoration of Wack Wack East Course, under construction of the third and planning the fourth nines at the Tagaytay Midlands Golf Course, and completed an 18-hole and residential development master plan for a site in Piatra, Romania.
